(upbeat music) I’m drawn to the neuroscience major, and I love neuroscience
because I find it fascinating that I can use my three-pound, squishy, electric gray matter to understand yours. I’m interested in neuroscience because it allows me to
synthesize all branches of science from analyzing the electrical
properties of neurons to looking at behavioral functions. Because it allows us to
use analytical methods to learn about the
processes that make us human and uncover what is still unknown about our own neurosystem. I originally came to Hopkins as a mechanical engineer,
but I decided to change to neuroscience really just because I wanted to study with a professor here, Dr. Gorman, and just taking one class with her, Brain Behavior and Cognition, and seeing how passionate
she was about the brain really just made me want
to be also passionate about the subject itself. (upbeat music)
